Annual donation supports children across the Moorestown community

MOORESTOWN, NJMoorestown Ecumenical Neighborhood Development, Inc. (MEND) recently received a generous donation of backpacks filled with school supplies from the Moorestown Breakfast Rotary Club, helping local students in need prepare for the new school year.

The Club’s annual donation, which has supported thousands of local students for more than two decades, provides backpacks filled with grade appropriate materials for students in kindergarten through eighth grade, benefiting students who attend the Moorestown School District.

Of the 100 plus backpacks donated by the club this year, 22 were provided to MEND to support children in need living at its housing sites who attend Moorestown schools. The remaining backpacks were donated directly to the district, helping ensure local students have the supplies they need to thrive in the classroom.

“Partnerships like this make a meaningful difference for the families we serve,” said Eileen Wirth, President and CEO of MEND. “We appreciate the Moorestown Breakfast Rotary Club’s longstanding commitment to our community and its generosity in helping ensure that MEND’s youngest residents have the supplies they need to begin the school year on the right foot.”
