Season’s Greetings from MEND President/CEO Eileen Wirth

Season’s Greetings from MEND President/CEO Eileen Wirth

As we start to end one year and enter another, I want to take a moment of time to Thank You for your past support and, to share news about our work and accomplishments during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The retirement of Matthew Reilly in 2020 prompted a change in leadership and, as MEND’s new leader, I am dedicated to continuing the mission and purpose of MEND in providing affordable housing in the Burlington County region of southern New Jersey.

The most exciting news is that MEND has successfully maintained occupancy levels and services to our residents.

  • MEND has hired a part time Service Coordinator to work with the needs of our resident senior citizens and persons with disabilities.
  • In partnership once again with Conifer, we successfully completed and rented up the Rolling Greens Apartments in Cinnaminson, NJ. This is the seventh affordable housing property successfully developed through our joint-venture relationship.
  • Thanks to the Moorestown Breakfast Rotary, we successfully distributed just under one hundred backpacks for the past two school years to MEND resident children enrolled in kindergarten through eighth grade.
  • MEND continued to support residents facing challenges during the pandemic and utilized the Tenant Emergency Fund to enable residents to stay in their homes. Since the inception of this fund in 2004, approximately $85,000 has been provided to support MEND residents facing financial challenges.
  • The MEND Children’s Holiday Fund provided holiday gift packages valued at $150 each to a total of seventy children thanks to the support of private citizens, companies and, the toy drive provided by the Social Committee of the Mews at Laurel Creek.

While there is much to be thankful for in the past, we are also looking towards increasing our portfolio and the services that we provide to our residents. MEND continues to seek out opportunities to support those in need of affordable housing in the Moorestown and greater Burlington County area of southern New Jersey.

MEND has been truly fortunate with ongoing supporters like you and we Thank You Immensely!

Sincerely & Have a Wonderful Holiday Season,

Eileen Wirth
